Bauchi PDP Lawmakers Dismiss Terrorism Sponsorship Allegations Against Governor Bala Mohammed.

Members of the House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State have unanimously reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and support for Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, strongly dismissing allegations linking him to the sponsorship of terrorist activities as false, baseless, and malicious.

In a joint press statement issued in Bauchi, the lawmakers stressed that although the matter is currently before a court of law, it is important to remind Nigerians of Governor Bala Mohammed’s consistent and commendable record in promoting security, peace, and sustainable development since assuming office.

“It is imperative to emphasize Governor Bala Mohammed’s proven track record as a leader who prioritizes security, public safety, and the overall development of Bauchi State at all times,” the statement said.

The statement was jointly signed by seven PDP federal lawmakers from Bauchi State, namely:

The lawmakers noted that over the past six years, Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration has significantly reduced incidents of armed banditry in Bauchi State, despite the security challenges posed by the state’s proximity to troubled states such as Zamfara and Katsina.

They further observed that while insecurity has forced mass displacement of citizens in parts of the North-West, Bauchi State has remained largely peaceful and has served as a safe haven for displaced persons—an achievement they attributed to visionary leadership and effective collaboration with security agencies.

The lawmakers also highlighted that although Bauchi is located in the North-East geopolitical zone, the state has remained free from Boko Haram insurgency throughout Governor Bala Mohammed’s tenure.

“This achievement is the result of deliberate policies, strong synergy with security agencies, and the governor’s firm resolve to deny terrorists and criminal elements any foothold in Bauchi State,” the statement added.

Describing the allegations linking the governor to terrorism financing as “illogical and unfounded,” the lawmakers maintained that such claims are completely at odds with the visible reality of peace and security enjoyed by residents of the state.

“A governor who has consistently denied terrorists space, safeguarded lives and property, and sustained peace across the state cannot, by any stretch of imagination, be labeled a sponsor of terrorism,” they stated.

Beyond security, the lawmakers highlighted notable achievements of the Bala Mohammed administration in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and social welfare, stressing that these accomplishments far outweigh any politically motivated distractions.

In conclusion, the PDP lawmakers urged Nigerians to remain calm, respect the rule of law, and allow justice to take its course through the appropriate legal channels.

“We are fully confident that Governor Bala Mohammed’s integrity, proven leadership record, and selfless service to Bauchi State will ultimately be vindicated,” the statement concluded.
