BAUCHI STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING WAS PRESIDEDOVER BY HIS EXCELLENCY SEN. BALA ABDULKADIR MUHAMMAD CON KAURAN BAUCHI

THE SESSION OF THE FIRST STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING WAS PRESIDED OVER BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF BAUCHI STATE SEN BALA ABDULKADIR MOHAMMED CON AT THE COUNCIL CHAMBER.

The session of the State Executive Council was presided over by His Excellency Sen Bala Mohammed CON at the Council chamber.

Governor Bala admits that council members were carefully selected from their various and respected local governments which indicates their respect and sense of belonging, commitment, and dedication to the new Bauchi Project considering the number of women, Youths, and Aged personalities among the executive arm of government which will bring about much growth and development of the state.

On security, Governor Bala said, Bauchi is a gateway to all three regions of Northern Nigeria as such, the cases of insecurity in other states have been gradually affecting the state.

“We have been communicating with our neighboring states to ensure we improve the security aspect for the protection of the lives and properties of our citizenry. We must cooperate with the security agencies, traditional and religious institutions as well as other stakeholders to render relevant information that leads the way in combating insecurity in our state”.

According him, his administration is doing its best in terms of engaging and collaborating with various agencies and ministries to ensure the growth of Bauchi state, especially in Agriculture and other sources of employment.

“Over the years we have been growing our GDP by bringing a lot of programs and progress to Bauchi which have made various people self-employed. We have been paying salaries and wages, pensions which take only 2% of the population of the state, and the rest are looking on to us. “With the little resources we will continue to develop our schools, and primary healthcare centers because most of our people live in remote areas and we have to make sure they are saved and secured” said the Governor.

However, he appealed to the executive arm to put all hands on the desk to ensure the growth of Bauchi thereby working harmoniously, and cordially, to discharge their duties effectively by mutual understanding. “However, we are going to be faced with lots of challenges of scarcity of resources considering the huge debts that we inherited from previous governments especially considering the rate of exchanges with foreign currencies in the international markets where such funds are continuously going to be deducted”.

The Governor further states that there are a lot of ghost-workers which we must reduce to a minimal level, especially in the health and education ministries. He said he would hold the commissioners responsible in terms of biometrics to flush out ghost workers syndrome which is further hampering employment.

He added that there will be no room for engaging any consultant because the commissioners must apply the necessary steps towards addressing the menance.

He appealed to the head of the service, commissioner of finance, and all other ministries to work in one accord towards averting such a predicament.

The Governor finally charged the commissioners to fully know that it is indeed a great privilege to serve the good people of Bauchi in this capacity and emplore them to join hands with their respective staff to aid the MDAs as well as other agencies for the growth of Bauchi State.

At the meeting were the State Deputy Governor, SSG, Chief of Staff, and all the Honorable Commissioners.
